All printed material must meet USPS Physical Standards.

Any material printed by Ace Mailing will be designed using USPS postal design standards for automation-compatible mail. We guarantee the piece would be deliverable without surcharges.

If you print your own material, you are responsible for meeting design criteria for the address side of the piece of literature. USPS design requirements can be found here.  The bottom 5/8" of any card or letter should be free of writing. Information detailed below is a guide but is not a substitute for consulting with Ace Mailing Services.

Postal Rates and Regulations for Letters and Postcards:
First Class Mail: To meet USPS requirements, the smallest mailable size is 3 1/2" x 5". The largest size for mailing at the postcard rate is 4 1/4" x 6".  Required: minimum thickness of .007 inch thick.

A higher letter rate applies to any piece larger than 4 1/4" x 6" and including as large as a 6 1/8" x 11" piece.  Required: minimum thickness of .009 inch thick.

Standard Presorted Mail. There is no differentiation between a post card, self mailer (a folded piece being mailed without an envelope) or inserts mailed in an envelope.  Any piece up to the 6 1/8" x 11" piece qualifies for the “letter rate.”
